Timber Funds

Jamestown recently introduced the timber fund series and is currently seeking timberland investment opportunities with a focus on the Southeastern United States. Jamestown, which prides itself on self-managing its investments, has reinforced its Atlanta team with renowned forestry experts Busso Graf von der Schulenburg and Bolko Graf von der Schulenburg, who maintain a comprehensive network of contacts within the industry and monitor the latest scientific research through relationships with faculties at the University of Georgia and the University of Florida. Jamestown will focus on pine plantations that exhibit high soil quality and have a high percentage of usable acreage. Jamestown expects to achieve superior returns by using newly developed management techniques that produce higher quantities and better quality of timber.

In addition, Jamestown will seek out timber properties located in and around population centers across the Southeastern United States that meet the requirements listed above in order to increase the probability that a portion of our holdings may be converted for “higher and better use.” The timber investment is intended as a conservative hedge against the vagaries of the stock market and inflation.

For timber investments, Jamestown seeks assets that require a minimum $8 million investment per transaction or tracts of at least 5,000 acres.
